Dragonfire 2024
We are pleased to announce that preparations for the 2024 Dragonfire are underway!! With this we give you our theme and dates, so you can diarise and start preparing yourselves!
This year we give you Clockwork Convergence, a steampunk-esque Dragonfire, similar to our 2002 theme! Thanks to the dates for this year, we are able to host a 3-day Dragonfire instead of our traditional 2-day event.
With that we ask you to hold on tight as more shall be revealed soon!

Dragonfire: The Dragon’s Slumber.
For those out of the loop, Dragonfire is our yearly convention that admits FREE ENTRANCE TO ALL. This year, we invite you to the slumber party of your dreams. From 16th to 18th September 2022 in the Kramer Building, join us for sleep-themed board games, RPGs, LARPs, Competitions, and so much more. Details below, but importantly, BRING YOUR COMFIEST PYJAMAS!
GEEKY VENDORS: This year’s selection of vendors are the merchants of merriment. We are so excited that they have chosen to partner with us to bring you all manner of cool items and merch.
COSPLAY COMPETITIONS: We will be hosting two cosplay competitions for you to showcase your creativity: Classic Cosplay and Cosy Cosplay. For Cosy Cosplay, we ask the question, “What would your comfort character wear to sleep?”
LOVE LETTER TOURNAMENT: Who will win the favour of the lovely Princess Annette? The Love Letter Tournament will test your deduction, risk assessment and fortune.
RPGs: RPGs are a timeless staple, so of course we cannot wait to share our prime selection of this Dragonfire. This is also the perfect place for any beginners to dip their toes into the world of tabletop RPGs as all RPGs are beginner-friendly.
LARPs: Sometimes imagination isn’t enough. Sometimes you want to BE the powerful sorcerer or the dastardly chambermaid. Our action-packed LARPs are perfect for those who prefer action to words.
BOARDGAMES: On top of all this goodness, we will have our classic selection of board games available for everyone to play.
MOVIE NIGHT: Like all good slumber parties, ours will be capped off by a warm and cosy movie night.

Geek Culture Market Day
Geek Culture Market Day is a collaboration between Bianca Louw, Devan Scott (pop culture enthusiasts) & Adam Barker, the founder of the Cape Town Toy Collectors Group on Facebook and host of the Mini Toy Fair in Brackenfell. We’ve joined forces in order to bring the fun city-side!
Our aim with this market is to create a central space for enthusiasts and collectors with a fun inclusive atmosphere where anyone is welcome, whether they’re a noob or a specialist collector. We hope to showcase a diverse, high-quality selection of vendors & exhibitors.
